The Robert Burns Society of Charleston, LLC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Scottish-American history and preserving Scottish heritage, culture, and military traditions throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry. The Society fulfills its mission by hosting events, encouraging high standards in traditional Scottish disciplines—including Highland Bagpiping, Highland Dance, Scottish Fiddle, Scottish Harp (Clarsach), and the Scots Gaelic language—and by promoting academic success within the Scottish-American diaspora through grants and scholarships.
Individuals of Scottish birth, their direct descendants, Scottish-Americans, and others who share an interest in Scottish culture and who support the mission and goals of the Society are eligible for membership.
Membership is renewed annually and runs from January 1 through December 31, regardless of the date of enrollment. Annual membership is $75.00 for one family member, with an additional $25.00 for a spouse or significant other. A life membership option is also offered.
